"to give in easily to the wishes of..." is one way Webster defines the word "pamper." Admittedly that notion is often pushed aside in today's frentic pace. Fortunately a little bit of pampering, of being good to yourself, of relaxation, of making life easier, is achievable in less time than you imagine.

How the Pros Get Away From It All

When personal time is precious, "you should be nice to you."

Samantha von Sperling, owner of Polished Social Image Consultants, believes in making life easier at work, too. "I delegate whenever possible, accounting, filing - anything to alleviate stress," she says.

On a personal level, this pro opts to get away from it all. "I take one fabulous vacation a year and one long weekend, generally for my birthday," adds von Sperling.

Making time to take care of yourself is both healthy mentally, physically and professionally, concludes von Sperling. She says, "When you feel good about yourself, you have more energy to take care of other people."
